Thiruvananthapuram | Heavy rains lashed the city and adjoining areas today, inundating several low lying areas.
According to the Meteorological Centre here, most parts of Kerala and Lakshadweep received heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours as South West monsoon intensified in the state.
Vadakara in Kozhikode received the highest of 16 cm rainfall, followed by Kozha in Kottayam- 13 cm and Piravom and Vythiri- 12 cm each.
It said heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places in Kerala till the morning of June 30. Strong winds from Westerly direction with speeds occasionally reaching 45-55 kmph is likely along and off Kerala Coast and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hours.
