Thiruvananthapuram | The 73rd round of Social Economic Survey will be held from July one to June 30 next year.
The Survey being conducted by the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation will focus on ‘Unincorporated Non-Agricultural Enterprises excluding construction’.
This was disclosed by Deputy Director General, NSSO (Field Operations Division), Kerala, M. Madhusudhanan while speaking at the Statistics Day celebrations here today.
He said the survey is very significant as the information collected will be used for policy planning, mid-course corrections in existing developmental programmes of Central and State governments, private sector, NGO’s besides estimating its contribution to the GDP.
As part of the seminar organised in connection with Statistics Day celebrations, Dr. Mohana Chandran Nair, Head of the Department, Department of Demography, and Dr. Satheesh, Faculty, Assistant Professor Department of Futures Studies, Kerala University, presented papers. An intercollegiate quiz competition was also organized on the occassion.
‘Statistics Day’ is being celebrated to commemorate the birth day of legendary Indian Statistician, late P C Mahalanobis.
