Kozhikode | Food-On-Wheels, an ambitious joint venture by Women’s empowerment mission Kudumbasree, Kozhikode Corporation and Social Justice Department of Kerala government, will be rolled out in August.
The decision was taken at a meet of top bureaucrats and representatives of leading trade chambers presided over by Panchayat and Social Justice Minister M K Muneer at district collectorate here today.
Talking at the gathering, he said discussion will be held with trade union leaders for the success of the scheme aimed at providing delicious food to passengers during night, he said adding first phase of the scheme will cover Valiyangadi Chungam to Valinyangadi over bridge in the city.
The mobile food stall providing vegetarian, non-vegetarian, ice creams and juices prepared by Vellimadukunnu based Gender Park will play music too, he said.
The meet was attended by, among others, Collector N Prasanth, Calicut Chamber of Commerce and Industry President P Gangadharan, Secretary M A Mehboob, Malabar Chamber of Commerce President C A Mohanan, Traffic Assistant Commissioner Abdul Razzaq, KURDFC Chairman K Moideen Koya, Gender Park CEO Dr P T M Suneesh, T R Balan and Mohammed Basheer.
