New Delhi | The Bharatiya Janata Party today gave credit to positive governance agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what it called party’s enhanced electoral performance reflected in the by-poll results declared yesterday to six assembly constituencies in different regions of the country.
People have once again reposed their trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji and his positive governance agenda, the party said, in a press statement issued here.
The BJP has reasons to celebrate as it clinched Garoth assembly of Madhya Pradesh, by defeating Congress by 12,945 votes, while it pushed Congress down to the third position in two assembly seats in Tripura, a Left Bastion, where by polls were held last Saturday.
In yet another Left forte, Kerala, the saffron party polled 34,145 votes in Aruvikkara assembly constituency, which is a nearly five fold increase compared to 7,694 votes polled in last assembly polls.
This signifies a significant March for the BJP and reflects the popular response to prime minister in path breaking initiatives in the north eastern region and with neighboring Bangladesh, the party said.
The by poll results have come as breather for the party as it is first electoral endorsement after crushing defeat in Delhi assembly polls.’
‘ The BJP has seen the bypoll results as a shot in the arm for the party and its positive politics at the Centre and in states is a strong rebuff for the practitioners of negative politics led by the Congress.
Once again, people have shown that politics is about performance and promise and not about holding press conferences and stalling Parliament to; which is what the Congress party has reduced itself to over the past few months, the party said.
