Kannur | The body of renowned technocrat and founding chairman of Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (Keltron) K P P Nambiar, who died at Bengaluru on June 30, was cremated at Keltron compund, Dharmasala, with state honors, today.
His son Kiran G Nambiar lit the funeral pyre around 1200 hrs, which was arranged at special place inside the Keltron Compound (premises) at Dharmashala, near National Highway-17.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life gathered at his house Ramapuram at Kallyassery , in his native village , to pay homage since last night.
The body reached here late last night from Bengaluru and his close relatives including K P Saradha, wife of Late Chief Minister E K Nayanar, paid homage.
The funeral procession proceeded from Kallyassery to Dharmashala. A closure was observed at Kallyassery, Keechery and Mangat to mourn his demise.
CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, MLA T V Rajesh and district leaders of Congress, BJP, CPI, IUML, CPI(M) and Industrialists besides Keltron employees also paid last respects to the technocrat.
