Kozhikode | In a major haul, Air Customs Intelligence seized 9.5 kg gold worth about Rs 2.5 crore from a passenger from Dubai at Calicut International Airport near here today.
Customs sources said the yellow metal comprising 9 bars of one kg each and four biscuits weighing 116 gm each from Shabnam, a native of Mattanchery in Kochi.
The contraband was seized from an inner jacket of her veil in detailed inspection carried out following her suspicious movement soon after arrival by an Indigo airline flight from Dubai this morning, they said. She has been taken into custody, they added.
