Tributes paid to scribe Rajagopal

Kozhikode | A large number of people, including, journalists paid tributes to V. Rajagopal, ace sports writer and former Deputy Editor of Mathrubhumi daily, who passed away in a private hospital in Kochi today.
Bharatiya Janata Party State President V Muraleedhran, Indian Union Muslim League Leader and MP, P V Abdul Wahab, Mathrubhumi Director and leading businessman P V Gangadharan, senior journalists K Aboobacker and P Damodaran, were among those, who paid tributes to Rajagopal, at Calicut Press Club.
The body was later taken to his residence at Panniyankara in the city. His last rites will be held at Mavoor Road crematorium tomorrow. It may be recalled that Rajagopal has covered five Olympics, six Asian Games and a Youth  Olympics.
He retired as Deputy Editor of the Mathrubhumi in 2013. For  several years, he also served as the Executive Editor of the daily.
Rajagopal, who penned several books, including ‘Ore Oru Usha’(only one Usha) about the former well-known athlete PT  Usha, was also the general council member of Kerala Press  Academy.
