Kozhikode | Former Union Minister P C Thomas, heading a Kerala Congress faction, today alleged ill-treatment by the CPI (M)-led Left Democratic Front prompted his party to snap ties with the Opposition grouping in the state.
Talking to reporters here after visiting his party district, Vice President Sreedhran Valakkayam, whose house was attacked in the district recently, he said two or three key leaders of a prominent party in the front deceived, forcing it to quit the front.
Without giving names, he said certain leaders of a particular party, indulged in ”killings, attacks and corruption,” leading that party to ”Bengal model.”
They are afraid of coming back to power in the state because of electoral defeat in ”Aruvikkara,” (apparently referring to result by poll result of Aruvikkara Assembly Constituency in which Congress Candidate K S Sabrinathan had won defeating his nearest CPI (M) Candidate M Vijaya Kumar), he said.
Mr Thomas was removed from the chairmanship of the party by another senior leader Scaria Thomas recently.
