Kochi | Twenty-five Officers including three each from the Indian Coast Guard and friendly foreign countries were inducted into the Aviation Branch on successful completion of Air Engineering and Air Electrical officers Specialisation Course from Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology.
The passing out parade, held at Naval base here today, was reviewed by Rear Admiral RB Pandit, Chief of Staff, Headquarters, Southern Naval Command.
The officers had been appointed to frontline squadrons at air stations and on completion of On Job Training (OJT) would be eligible for award of M Tech degree under the aegis of Cochin University of Science and Technology.
Director General Coast Guard Trophy for best all round officer of the course was awarded to Asst Comdt Vineesh Krishnan. Lt Cdr Pranav Jha and SLt M Rengaprasath were awarded Trophies for standing first in overall order of merit amongst Air Electrical and Engineering Officers respectively.
Rear Admiral Pandit in his address stressed the increased responsibility on the officers in wake of induction of fourth generation modern aircraft such as MiG 29 K, Boeing P8I, Hawk AJT etc in the Naval air arm.
Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology was the largest Aeronautical Training Establishment in the country and is recognized as Centre for Aeronautical Science and Technology by Cochin University of Science and Technology.
