Thiruvananthapuram | A mega title deed function will be held in Idukki district of Kerala on August 22, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here today.
‘Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) will give 25 hectares of land for providing land to those under Zero Landless Scheme. LSG will give order to distribute title deeds in the land with Idukki Development Authority,’ he said in a press release.
‘The land taken by KSEB will be marked to stop soil erosion from banks of Dams at Kanchiyar, Ayyapankovil, Upputhura Panchayaths. One team each will be deployed in all dams. Six teams that include officials of Dam Safety Officer, KSEB, Forest and Survey departments will be deployed for the purpose. Those who live beyond 200 meters will be given title deeds. Steps will be taken to resurvey the land of those who already posses title deeds,’ he added.
‘At Cheruthoni, the limit marked as maximum fold level will be remarked 10 meters further above. Steps will be taken to provide title deeds to 106 families at Moolamattom AKG colony,’ he said.
As the 2 acres 23 cents of land given to Kanchiyar panchayath to distribute to those farmers who possess no land is not utilized the same will be returned back. The Joint Verification report held at the forest land in Kanjikuzhi and Idukki villages will be handed over to the revenue department.
Steps will be taken to demarcate the government land at Kanthaloor Village that can be used as forest land, he added.
