Kannur | Students Federation of India (SFI) Kerala unit Secretary M Vijin today said SFI has been organizing different types of agitation by using social media ,like face book march on July 16, to protest against the delay of issue of school text books.
Talking to newspersons here today, Mr Vijin said the ‘facebook march’ is being organized as a mission to enable the public, including Keralites from abroad to participate in the stir against the government’s policy in the education sector and police using force on the agitating students. .
Mr Vijin said SFI will open a page of details of the delay of issue of text books. After this people who are interested in participating along with SFI will joini the stir by ticking the options like or writing comments.
He also said SFI will organize a one day dharna on July 15 in all district head quarters to protet against the upset of distribution of text books. As part of the recent agitation in this regard, 208 SFI activists had been admitted to various hospitals, and 40 students were lodged in jails across the State.
SFI demanded to conduct a comprehensive inquiry for sabatoage the distribution of text books and the graft held in printing the books in private press. SFI also demanded an independent agency should probe the issue, The government announced a probe by Chief Secretary led team was not acceptable..
SFI also demanded withdraw al of police cases against its members and that police should stop harassing them in the wake of their partiicipation in the agitation.
