Thiruvananthapuram | Indian Space Research Organisation Chairman A S Kiran Kumar today said the reported hacking of ISRO’s commerical arm Antrix Corporation Limited’s website was not done by anyone manually but it was only a ‘pharma hack.’
Talking to newspersons at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre here, the Chairman said the site was earlier hosted by a Mumbai-based firm and it was in the process of transferring to the ISRO server.
”Under construction sites are more vulnerable,” he said, adding that the problem was soon rectified.
”We have looked into the matter and found that it was not done manually. It is only in the nature of a pharma hacking so as to place some advertisement matter in vulnerable sites,” he said.
He said steps had been taken to ensure the safety of all the websites of the space organisation.
The website – http://www.antrix.gov.in - was found redirected to a sports merchandise webpage.
