Kannur | The hearing of the anticipatory bail plea of CPI(M) Kannur district unit secretary P Jayarajan in the RSS district functionary K Manoj murder case has been adjourned to July 16.
The petition came up before Thalassery district sessions judge R Narayana Pisharody today. But the Public Prosecutor pleaded that as the CBI prosecutor had to attend another case, the bail plea of Jayarajan could be taken up later.
Jayarajan’s counsel K Viswan submitted that the anticipatory bail application which was filed on July 10 should be considered at the earliest.
Meanwhile, CPI(M) Payyanur area secretary T I Madhusoodhanan, named as the 20th accused in this case, filed anticipatory bail plea today through his counsel K VIswan. The petition would come up for hearing next week.
Mr Jayarjan had moved for anticipatory bail alleging political motive to arrest him in the Kathiroor Manoj murder case. The CBI probing the case had questioned him. The CBI has also named CPI(M) Payyanur area Secretary T I Madhusoohanan as the 20th accused in the case in the second phase ofits probe for harbouring and providing medical treatment to prime accused Vikraman. Madhusoodhanan.
He was summoned by CBI on July 9 for questioning but he did not appear as yet before the probe team. He filed his an anticipatory bail plea before the District Sessions court.
