Thiruvananthapuram | Communist Party of India(Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front today staged a walkout in Kerala Assembly in protest against the denial of an adjournment motion, seeking discussion over the murder of an eight-year-old boy at Katlot in Kasargod district on July nine.
Seeking the leave of the House to move the adjournment motion, CPI (M) member EP Jayarajan alleged that the ruling Congress-led United Democratic Front was trying to protect the accused, allegedly an RSS activist, who hacked the son of a CPI (M) activist to death.
Alleging that the UDF Government had a history of writing-off many cases against the Rashtriya Swayamvek Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party workers, he said the Government was making a similar blunder  in this murder case too, by justifying that the brutal murder was committed by a mentally-challenged man.
The third standard student Muhammed Fahad was hacked to death by Vijaya Kumar (35) while he was proceeding to school with other students, including his sister. However, Fahad succumbed to serious injuries on the way to the hospital.
Fahad, a victim of endosulfan, was the the son of Abbas and Ayisha, both natives of Kannoth.
It was reported that Vijaya Kumar was arrested earlier in a bomb-hoax case after the father of the victim assisted the police in identifying him.
Mr Jayarajan further alleged many temples, managed by the RSS and the BJP, were used for storing arms and ammunition and sheltering anti-social elements.
In his reply, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the Government would not protect any criminal or political parties like the  CPI (M) or RSS if they indulged in violence or nurture bomb culture in Kerala.
The Home Minister assured the House that in the hacking case, the wrong-doer would not be treated as a mentally-deranged person.
The assurance came amid pandemonium when the Opposition charged the police with trying to dilute the case by branding the perpetrator as a mentally-challenged man.
Following the reply, Speaker N Sakthan denied permission to discuss the issue. In protest against the Government stand, Opposition leader and Former State Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan, who alleged that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was acting as a BJP man to protect Sangh Parivar criminals and led the walk out by LDF members.
