Thiruvananthapuram | Dr Asha Kishore, an eminent neurologist who specialises in Movement Disorders, has been appointed as the Director of Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology(SCTIMST) here.
She is the first woman to head the SCTIMST. Dr Asha Kishore established the first comprehensive care centre for movement disorders in India at Sree Chitra Institute and the centre is a front runner offering the state-of-the art treatment to patients from around India, a press release claimed here today.
Dr Asha Kishore is a member of the scientific committee member of International Association of Parkinsonism and Related Disorders.
One of the first Indian neurologists to be trained in the sub-specialty of movement disorders at the University of British Columbia, Canada, she also received additional training in neurostimulation treatment for movement disorders at the Emory University, USA, and Grenoble University, France.
