Kerala witnesses 38 per cent shortage in rainfall

Thiruvananthapuram | Kerala witnessed 38 per cent shortage in rainfall in June-July this year compared to the same period in the previous year, Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash told the State Assembly today.
Replying to a question by N Shamsudeen, the Minister  said the Southwest monsoon hit the Kerala shores on June four this year and from that date to July eight of this month, the State received 38 per cent less compared to the same period last year.
In view of this, the Centre has prepared an action plan for Kerala to deal with the shortage of drinking water in the coming months, he added.
