Passport Officer held on graft charge

Malappuram | The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Regional Passport Officer for accepting bribe from a passport applicant in Malappuram District of Kerala.
Sources said here today, Malappuram RPO P Ramakrishnan was arrested by the CBI Kochi unit last night for taking Rs 50,000 from an applicant.
Middleman Abdul Majeed has also been taken into custody, they said.
The sleuths, in a raid at Ramakrishnan’s Residence, unearthed Rs 13 lakh, 80 sovereigns and documents for landed properties in different places, they added.
