New Delhi | A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was killed, when a fire broke out at a CRPF installation in RK Puram in the wee hours today, fire officials said.
The fire officials received a call around 0300 hrs on Saturday that a fire had broken out at the fourth floor of the CRPF building situated in the national capital in R K Puram.
Seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control early this morning.
?The constable who died was sleeping inside the building and did not respond to repeated calls for evacuation. He must be sleeping deeply,? Fire Department officials said.
Air-conditioners, furniture and electronic gadgets on the fourth floor of the building were reportedly destroyed.
The floor of the building dealt with the EDP cell of the force which used to have records relating to pay and other aspects of the CRPF management.
The force officials reached the spot to investigate the matter to find out the exact cause of fire and the factors which led to the death of the constable.
