Vice-President Hamid Ansari today condoled the death of former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
”Dr APJ Kalam was man of many parts. He was man of technology,” the Vice-President said in a message.
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, in her condolence message, said,” 3 minutes ago Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was people’s President. My homage to the great soul.”
Congress president, Sonia Gandhi today expressed deepest condolences at the sudden demise of one of India?s iconic leader and former President, APJ Abdul Kalam.
Describing Dr. Kalam as one of the greatest scientific minds, a scholar statesman and a true patriot, who inspired millions of young and old alike by his works and deeds, Ms Gandhi said, ” his contribution to our polity will remain unparalleled. Dr. Kalam inspired millions in the country and abroad.
”Indian National Congress stands with the entire Nation in condoling Dr. Kalam?s death,” she said.
Dr Kalam breathed his last while infusing a new zeal to young Indians in the course of his last address to IIM students.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today condoled the death of former President A P J Abdul Kalam.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today termed the death of former President A P J Abdul Kalam as a personal loss. This is a personal loss for me. Dr Kalam was a great scientist and eminent social worker.
On my request, he had come to Bihar on a number of occasions and guided the development of the state. He had also immensely contributed towards setting up of the Nalanda International University, Kumar said.
Former chief minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi both condoled the death of Kalam saying it was an irreparable loss. He was not just an astute statesman, Kalam was also a scholar and a renowned scientist. Despite being the President, he always used to relate and react with the common people and under his supervision, India’s defence system got a huge boost, Lalu said.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today condoled the death of former President A P J Abdul Kalam.
”Deeply saddened at the sudden demise of the former president of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. He was an inspiration to an entire generation. Dr Kalam was a man of impeccable character, indomitable spirit, profound knowledge and firm conviction.
”The death of Dr Kalam is an irreparable loss to this nation. He has left a big void hard to fill. I deeply mourn his death. RIP Kalam Sahab,” the Home Minister tweeted.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today condoled the death of former President A P J Abdul Kalam and said she shared a special bond with him. Very, very sad news. I had a special bond with Kalam’ji. He was one of India’s favorite sons and one of my favourite people. A very sad day, Banerjee said in a tweet from the United Kingdom where she was on a five-day visit. Former President A P J Abdul Kalam, a popular head of state between 2002 and 2007, died today after he collapsed during a lecture at Shillong.
