Key accused in elephant poaching case held

Kasargod | A key accused in Idamalayar elephant poaching case was arrested by Special Investigation Team probing the case here last night.
Sources said sharp shooter Aandi Kunhu alias Jijo (33) was arrested from Kasargod Bus stand by the SIT, comprising Forest Department personnel.
They said Andi Kunhu, a native of Kothmangalam, was looking for a safe hiding place when he was nabbed by the team.
Earlier the team had conducted search operations for him in neighbouring Karnataka, they said adding the team later took him to Kochi.
Main accused Ikkaramattam Vasu was found dead in a farm house in Maharashtra while another culprit Eldose was surrendered to authorities.
The poachers had reportedly killed about 30 jumbos for ivory.
