Posters and banners have been put up elsewhere in Rameswaram in Dr Kalam’s memory.
Rameswaram has never seen anything quite like this kind of outpouring of sorrow over the loss of a person, when we go into its previous history, said the Octogenarian Venkateshwara Shasthri who is the family friend of Dr Kalam, after paying homage.
Not only from his community, people from other religions were also paying their respects to him, as he (Dr.Kalam) is a great visionary and perhaps it is once in a generation phenomenon, such a legend born, he said.
