Kozhikode | The Malabar Dewaswom Employees Union (MDEU) affiliated to pro CPI (M) Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) will take out a march to Dewaswom Board office and stage dharna before its premises on August 19 to press their various demands.
Talking to reporters here General Secretary A K Balan said full salary to employees of temples with low income had been paid for the last three years.
Salary of the employees, reeling under sky rocketing prices on essentials and inflation, has not been revised for the last six years, he said adding the authorities have not yet initiated steps for the purpose.
No decision has been taken on the demand for a month salary as Onam allowance, a minimum monthly salary of Rs 8,000 and payment of salary arrears before the festival.
Other demands included hike revenue ceiling of temples to Rs 25 lakh for management grant, regularize temporary staff, grade promotion to executive officers, increment, more appointment of executive officers for smooth functioning of temples and weekly one off.
