Kannur | Iritty police arrested a Maoist sympathiser from Ernakulam in connection with pasting and distributing Maoists pamphlets and carrying out protest at Iritty, two months back in the district.
According to Iritty Dysp P Sukumaran here today, they arrested Bahuleyan (52) of Thiuvanthapuram and produced him before the Thalassery Sessions Court which sent him to judicial custody for 30 days. He was lodged at Kannur Central Jail.
He said Bahuleyan was absconding leading to the arrest of all five accused in this case. Earlier, police arrested RDF State Secretary Ajayan of Ernakulam, its President Sugathan of Kozhikode, Ramakrishnan of Karivellur and Ouseph Kutty of Thrissur.
Police booked them under UAPA in this case for participating in the programmed conducted by the banned organization and conducting a campaign with them.
