IRCTC announces Onam special tour packages

Kozhikode | Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) Ltd will introduce Onam Special Tourist Train (OSTT), International Tours and Special charter Tours to Tirupati during the harvest festival holidays in the state.
Talking to newspersons here today IRCTC Regional Manager S Sreekumar said the OSTT, departing the State on August 23 will cover most popular tourism destinations, including Agra, Amritsar, Delhi and Goa and return on September 3.
Tourists have the convenience of boarding the train at major railway stations — Thiruvanthapuram (Kochuveli), Kollam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Shornur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod, he said.
The 12-day all inclusive package has three cateogires namely Standard (Sl class), Comfort (3AC) and Deluxe (2AC) with train tickets, accommodation arrangements, vehicles for transfers and sightseeing, vegetarian food and all applicable taxes.
Exclusively meant for tourists, this train has tour managers and security guards per coach, public address system for disseminating tour information, announcements, religious discourses, among others.
The State/Central/PSU employees can avial LTC facility as per the extant policy guidelines and eligibility.
Monthly tour on special coach to Tirupati from Kerala covered Tirumala, Tiruchanur and Kaalahasti temples with SL class train tickets, hotel accommodation, local transportation (AC), food, tour guide, IRCTC tour escort and ‘darshan’ tickets at price starting from Rs 4,630, he said.
Tour dates from the state are September 27, October 25, November 29 and December 13, he added.
In the international segment, the package to Thailand has been introduced on August 28, he said. Titled as ‘Thailand Getaway Package at Rs 16,700 offered confirmed flight tickets for round trip in economy class, hotel accommodation (3 star facility) with breakfast (02 nights each at Pattaya and Bangkok), lunch and dinner at Indian restaurants, AC coash for transfer and sightseeing, English speaking tour escort, entry tickets as per the tour itinerary, travel insurance and all taxes, he said.
In continuation to international tours, ‘Malaysia-Singapore Package’ on October 18 with two nights in Malaysia and three nights in Singapore has been launched, he said. This all inclusive package has starting price at Rs 55,597, he said.
