Malappuram, Kerala | Cattle and meat traders in Kerala and Tamil Nadu today called off their month-long stir following assurance from the state governments on protection to trucks laden with cattle.
Talking to reporters here, Kerala Cattle Traders Welfare Samithy leaders said movement of trucks laden with cattle will resume from August 17.
With this, beef will be available across Kerala from Monday, they said.
Traders went on strike from July 19 to protest attack on the trucks carrying cattle from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and by miscreants and demanding abolition of unnecessary checks.
