Homestays and rural tourism travel meet to be held

Kochi | With an object to opening new avenues to home stay serviced  villa  entrepreneurs and encourage village tourism, the Home stays  and Rural Tourism Travel meet-2015 will be held here from September one to three.
Informing this at a news conference here, former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Prof K V Thomas, MP, said that the three-day meet, to be inaugurated by Union of state Dr Mahesh Sharma,  organized jointly by the  Kerala Home Stay and Tourism Society (Kerala HATS)..
It was expected that over  300 home stay  serviced villa entrepreneurs and over 300 tour operators from across the country would take part in the event, he said adding that it was for the first time such a meet exclusively for home stay serviced villa entrepreneurs organizing in the country.
Prof Thomas also said that various programmes, including seminars about the issues faced by the tourism sector as well as the Home stay entrepreneurs and about 200 stalls by the home stay entrepreneur would also be at the meet.
A B2b meet between travel operators and entrepreneurs would be held on the second day, he said addindg that such travel meet on the model of Kerala Travel mart would be organized in every year for the home stay entrepreneurs.
Kerala Excise Minister K Babu will inaugurate the valedictory function.
Tourism Joint secretary Suman Billa IAS, KTDC Chairman Vijayam Thomas, Prof KV Thomas, MP, Kerala tourism secretary G Kamala Varhana Rao, IAs and others would take part in the inaugural ceremony, in which Kerala Tourism Minister A P Anilkumar will be the chief guest.
