Kozhikode | Siddeek Ahmed, Chairman and Managing Director of Saudi Arabia-based leading business conglomerate Eram Group of Companies, has been chosen for the coveted P V Sami Memorial Industries and Socio-Cultural award 2015 for his invaluable contribution to industry.
Announcing the award instituted by P V Sami Memorial Trust, trustee P V Gangadharan said Dr Ahmed was chosen for the award for his outstanding contribution to the industry and public service.
A jury comprising former Union Minister and Mathrubhumi Chairman and Managing Director M P Veerendra Kumar, C K Ramachandran and a well known film personality Sathyan Andikkad selected him for the award instituted in memory of eminent industrialist P V Sami.
The award carrying a plaque, citation and shawl will be presented to Dr Ahmed by Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala at a function here on September one, he said, adding, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty will inaugurate the function.
Besides award presentation, P V Sami memorial meet and a seminar on ‘Make in India – Importance to Kerala” will also be held.
Electricity Minister Aryadan Mohammed will open the memorial meet presided over by Purushan Kadalundi and attended by among others, senior BJP leader P S Sreedharan Pillai, KPCC General Secretary N Subramanian, IUML state Treasurer P K K Bava and CPI district Secretary T V Balan, he said.
The seminar to be inaugurated by senior Congress leader K Muraleedharan, MLA, would be attended by Prof Saji Gopinatha of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, CPI (M) Politburo member M A Baby, MLA, senior Congress leader P C Chacko, BJP state Secretary Adv B Gopalakrishnan, Flowers TV Managing Director R Sreekandan Nair and V K C Group of Companies Managing Director V Naushad, he added.
