Kannur | Five members of a CPI(M) family, including three women were injured in an attack on their house allegedly by four BJP/RSS activists at Naduvanad near Mattanur late last night.
According to Mattanur police, four BJP activists led by Abhilash and Jishnu came to attack the house of a DYFI worker Vinod(30) at Kotturinghal near Naduvand under Mattanur police limits.  They damaged window panes and  assaulted Vinod, his mother Padmini, pregnant sister  Reena, his wife and a relative. All of them had been admitted to a private hospital at Kannur town.
Meanwhile, CPI(M) district secretary alleged that Vinod had recently joined  CPI(M) from BJP. A RSS gang attempted to insult their women after assaulting them, including a pregnant woman . The gang demanded  Vinod to abandon  his links with CPI(M) , other wise his nude photos will be published in coming days.
He said the people of Naduvanad did not co-operate during the  Rakshabandhan festival. So BJP workers forcibly entered the houses and tied Rakhis. Some women protested  and this led to the attack on the family.
