Benyamin chosen for Padma Prabha puraskaram

Kozhikode | Ace novelist Benyamin has been chosen for this year’s Padma Prabha Puraskaram for his contributions to Malayalam literature.
Announcing the award, Padma Prabha Trust Chairman and former Union Minister M P Veerendra Kumar said his work ‘Adujeevitham’, highlighting the trials and tribulations of Pravasis has fetched him the coveted award.
A jury comprising writers C V Balakrishnan, Dr Khadeeja Mumthas and Subhash Chandran chosen him for the award, carrying a purse of Rs 75,000, diamond-studded statute and citation.
Adujeevitham, which had won many awards earlier too, is into its 101th edition. Lauding the award, Mr Benyamin said, it was a recognition to writers of his generation.
