Thiruvananthapuram | The Centre will allocate Rs 280 crore for improving the security of the world’s richest ‘Sri Padmanabha Swamy’ temple here, Union Minister of State for Tourism Mahesh Sharma has said.
The Minister, who attended the Onam celebrations here, said Rs 100 crore would spend for the conservation of culture and protection Kerala’s heritage, an official press release said.
Later, the Minister visited Santhigiri Ashram here and inaugurated a proclamation meeting of Poorna Kumbha Mela to be held at the Ashram on September 20.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the Centre would take steps for including Lotus ‘Parnasala’ at the Ashram in the tourism map of the country as part of attracting foreign tourists.
