Kochi | Expressing satisfaction over progress of the Kochi Metro Project here, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today reiterated that the prestigious metro rail project should be commissioned in time bound manner.
After unveiling design of the coaches of the Kochi Metro Rail here, he claimed that within 100 days, the coaches would be landed in the city and expressed the confidence that the trial and regular operations of the dream project of the Congress-led UDF Government would be materialised in the scheduled time.
With the commissioning of the project, Kochi Metro would have a feather on its cap as it would be the first ever metro in the country that completed its work very fast and starting its perations at the shortest time, Mr Chandy claimed.
When the work of the project was commissioned it had stated that the work would be completed in 1095 days and the first train would run through the tracks, he said, adding, with the progress of the work it was proved that the project would be commissioned in record and in the stipulated time.
Giving full trust on DMRC and its adviser E Sreedharan, the Chief Minister said the government was entirely satisified over the progress o work and lauded Mr Sreedharan and the DMRC.
Mr Chandy also informed that the government had taken steps to solve other minor technical issues, like acquiring land in certain places.
Once the first train started its operations, it would establish that nothing was impracticable in Kerala in terms of development, he said, adding, t the government had received cooperation from all sectors to materialise the project.
Earlier, the Chief Minister also released the new logo of Kochi Metro Rail Limited.
