Kasargod | Police team probing the Kudlu Service Cooperative Bank heist has intensified investigation into the shocking burglary at Eriyal in Kasargod District of Kerala yesterday, District Superintendent of Police S Sreenivas today said.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT), headed Deputy Superintendent of Police T P Ranjith, has been constituted to probe the case, he said. The probe would be extended to neighbouring Karnataka, too, he said.
According to a complaint, 21 kg gold and Rs 13 lakh were looted by threatening employees by five masked men who arrived on two motor bikes, he said.
The bank had not installed Closed Circuit Television Cameras as mandated by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) norms or posted a security guard either, another officer said.
