Two foreigners die, 14 injured after Shimla toy train derails

Shimla | Two foreign nationals were killed and 14 people injured today when two coaches of a Kalka-Shimla Toy train derailed at Taksal near Parwanoo in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, 96 km from here.
Police said the dead were women. The injured were admitted to hospitals in Parwanoo, 30 km from Chandigarh. Four critically injured were referred to PGI, Chandigarh.
According to police the derailment of chartered toy train occurred after covering three km distance after its departure from Kalka Railway (Haryana) station to Shimla at 1240 hrs when it went off the tracks after an hour.
Five trains daily run to-and-fro on the World Heritage Kalka-Shimla line. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
