Hyderabad | The Telangana government will construct 350 houses for the most economically-backward Malayalees living in Hyderabad city.
Addressing a meeting after laying the foundation stone for ‘ Kerala Bhavan ‘ in the presence of Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy here last night, Mr Rao announced that 350-two-bedroom houses would be provided to them.
A list of 350 members of Malayali community has been received and the houses would be sanctioned to them with immediate effect, the Chief Minister said.
Earlier the Telangana government had allotted one acre of land for Kerala Bhavan and Rs 1 crore as financial assistance for the construction of the building. Kerala Chief Minister offered five acres of land for the construction of Telangana Bhavan near Sabarimala for Ayyappa devotees from Telangana state.
