Aparna Vinod, the ‘Hemanthamen’ nightingale of the film ‘Kohinoor’ to be released tomorrow gained a place in the nostalgia corner of Malayali minds with her simple look and articulated gracefulness. The song ‘Hemanthamen’ received overwhelming response from critic and the public, being hailed an outstanding nostalgic melody.
Her debut is ‘Njan Ninnod Koodeyund’. After this she didn’t get much chance. In between she received an invitation from the producer of the film ‘Kohinoor’ through Facebook message. They were in the search of a heroine. Aparna was selected through audition. The shooting of the film started the very second day of audition test.
The film ‘Njan Ninnod Koodeyund’ was an art movie. ‘Kohinoor’ is absolutely different, not much match with her debut. Aparna is very excited to be a part of the ‘Kohinoor’ team.
”I really enjoyed in Kohinoor shooting. I was very comfortable with Asif Ali and the crew. The director Vinay Govind is a person with dedication and determination to his work. He knows how to utilize a person’s potential. Aparna is all praise.
My character in the film ‘Kohinoor’ is entirely different. The film’s subject is a heist. My role in the movie is as a sales girl named Daisy. She is a village girl and is the daughter of a church sexton. I appear in this film having no makeup.
The main shooting locations of ‘Kohinoor’ are Kozhikode and Thalasseri. “I was in a rejoicing mood as I was in the company of a comfortable crew of youngsters on the set of Kohinoor. Asif Ali, Aju Varghese etc were very co-operative. To be a part of a youth gang, will prove to be a great experience. It is a film crafted by youth.
”My entry into the film ‘Njan Ninnod Koodeyund’ was also through audition. I have indeed pleasure to make my debut with a National Award winning director like Priyanandan. My second movie, ‘Kohinoor’ is also with a good team. Aparna is in a thrilled mood.
She had a craze towards films from her childhood. She was active in drama and dance in school days. She belongs to Kochi, but born and brought up in Thiruvananthapuram. Now she is doing B.Sc Psychology from Thrissur. Her father Vinod is a business man. Mother is Vaiga. She has a sister, Gayatri, a plus two student.
Even though ‘Kohinoor’ is not released, the songs in the film captured place. After this Aparna had offers from Tamil and Telugu. But they are not taken for granted. She wishes to remain in Malayalam movies for the time.
