Kozhikode | Two more Keralites, hailing from Kollam District, were among more than 700 pilgrims who perished in Mina Haj stampede two days ago.
According to information received by relatives, Sulfiqar (33), a native of Chithara and Sajib Habeeb of Punalur were killed in the tragedy.
Reports on the deaths of Moideen Abdul Khader (62) of Vadakkancherry in Palakkad district and Abdu Rehman (51) of Chelembra in Malappuram district were received earlier. Rehman’s wife Sulekha is recuperating at a Medina hospital.
Names of Khader and Rehman were not in the list released by the Indian Mission in Saudi as they had gone for the pilgrimage from Riyadh. As per an official release, death toll of Indian pilgrims touched 18 in the worst ever stampede near Mecca on Thrusday.
