Patna | Prime minister Narendra Modi has gone to US to find an NRI chief ministerial candidate for Bihar because there is no competent leader for him in the state, this is how RJD supreme Lalu Prasad took a dig at BJP led NDA’s refusal to project chief ministerial candidate in the impending assembly elections in the state.
Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s current visit to the US, Mr Prasad today tweeted on his personal account to virtually make a mockery of the NDA’s refusal to project any leader for the top post.
The grand secular alliance comprising JD (U), RJD and Congress had long been demanding the BJP led NDA to announce its chief ministerial candidate for Bihar polls. As it is the grand alliance has already announced Nitish Kumar as its chief ministerial candidate and has been apparently pressing the NDA to follow suit since there were several claimants for the top post in the BJP as well as its allies. Even before the announcement of polls date, RLSP chief and Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha had staked claim for chief ministership.
Not to lag behind LJP chief and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan had indirectly staked his claim by recalling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s statement that he deserved the post.
