Lucknow | Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said that police needs more training to change their image to avoid their criticism.
Mr Yadav, who honoured eight eminent people of the state for their brave deeds, said that the police image in the entire country needs a change. He said that the media projecting a bad image of the state government was due to the insensitive attitude of the police.
The Chief Minister was reacting on the recent police atrocity on an old typist in the state capital, who was also honoured on the occasion. Police needs better training to be sensitive with human values, the Chief Minister further added.
On the occassion, Mr Yadav also handed over cheques for Rs one lakh.The eight people, who were honoured are : typist Krishna Kumar and the photo journalist Ashutosh Tripathi, whose live photo became viral in the social media, Ramjit Yadav of Mirzapur who recently saved ten children from drowning in the Ganga, Harendra Singh of Noida,a native of Etawah who studies in the pavement while earning, Rajkumar, Sanjay and Pintu Sahani of Ballia for saving public from crocodile and Sushma Verma the child prodigy.
The CM also honoured noted urdu shayar Wasim Bareilvi, who was present on the occasion .
