Kochi | With over 1,60,000 dog bite cases reported in Kerala in one year, the problem of street dogs has preoccupied even political parties in the state.With the continuing stray dog menace creating panic among public in Kerala now Rotary Cochin Central will organize ”The Run for Life”, a special event to promote the concept of safe and sound roads through ‘stray dog free free Kochi.
Announcing this at a news conference, Rotary Cochin Central President Raju Hormis said the decision of organising such an event was to call the attention of the concerned against the menace of stray dogs that posed a danger to the life of the people, particularly women and children.
The campaign is intended to create awareness among citizens for a cleaner and safer city without stray dogs, he said.The priority of this campaign was to uphold safety of human life, he said. The run, to be conducted on November 8, would be supported by young Rotarians, businessmen, individuals from various walks of life and students, he added.
