Srinagar| Army has sent a group of 20 students from far flung areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama and Sophian districts on an educational cum motivational tour to Mumbai and Delhi.Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel N N Joshi said Army flagged the tour yesterday as a part of operation Sadbhavna.
The tour will come to end by October 13.
During the tour, the students will have an opportunity to visit some of the leading Educational Institutions of the country like Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune, Army Institute of Technology (AIT) Pune and National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla, he said.
A visit to Infosys at Pune, one of the most reputed Information Technology enterprises in the world would be a major attraction for the students. Besides this, the students will also visit various places of historical relevance which will give them an insight into India’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
Students, some of whom had not even visited outside the valley, said it was dream come to true for them since their parents could not have afforded such a tour.
