New Delh | Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today demanded that the states be given more power and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should be made independent. Addressing a Centre state relationship , Mr Kejriwal said states should be given more power as country cannot be governed by sitting in Delhi. Along with Mr Kejriwal, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attended the conclave. Six non-Congress, non-BJP Chief Ministers were invited of which besides only two non-Congress, non-BJP Chief Ministers participated.
Mr Kejriwal called ‘Governors’ as agents of the Centre and accused them of interfering in state government’s work culture. He said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed inability to attend the event due to some engagements. Mr Kejriwal expressed his gratitude towards the West Bengal Chief Minister for participating in the conclave.
