Dadri | The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Bishada village and meet the family of deceased Mohammad Iqlakh (50), who was killed in an attack by a mob over rumours that the family had consumed beef. Talking to reporters here, AAP leader Ashutosh said,”We were stopped from entering the village. We have been asked to stay in a guest house where senior officials will come and meet us.” He said AAP leaders along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were stopped at guest house by police. ”No convincing reason was given by the district Administration,” Ashutosh said. ” The Administration has not told them that why they have stopped them, they are escorting us to a guest house,” the AAP leader said. Condemning the incident, Ashutosh called upon the Prime Minister to visit the family members of the victim. ”We think even the Prime Minister should come here and spread a message so that something like this never happens again,”Ashutosh said. ”Our party wants that the family of the deceased should be given the condolences over the incident and they should be assured that it will not happen again. We would also¬†

appeal to the Prime Minister to visit the grieving family. When asked from another AAP leader Sanjay Singh that why they were stopped outside Bishada Village, the AAP leader said that they should ask the administration ”if they have stopped us”. Meanwhile, in a tweet, Mr Kejriwal charged the BJP of practising the politics of hatred. ”I am being acused of doing politics. Yes, I am doing politics. But I am doing politics of unity and love. BJP are doing politics of hatred. We firmly believe that Hindus and Muslims have to stay united and not become vote banks. BJP want to divide people, Mr Kejriwal said.
The visit of the chief minister comes a day after he described the Dadri incident as outcome of divisive politics and called for an end to such politics. ”On Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday let us pledge to put an end to divisive
politics. Beef ban murder a result of divisive politics. Let us stop this,”Mr Kejriwal tweeted yesterday. Iqlakh died and his son was seriously injured after a mob entered their house in Dadri and attacked their family over rumours that they had consumed beef on Monday night.
The incident has evoked wide condemnation . The Aam Aaadmi Party has demanded sacking of Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma over his remark that the Dadri incident was an accident.
