Nagpur | Terming electoral promises of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as an ‘eyewash’, CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury today claimed that the results of Bihar assembly would be similar to that of the Delhi poll results.
There is a huge gap between poll promises and post poll delivery by the BJP-led NDA government which would certainly have its impact on election results in the poll-bound state of Bihar, said Mr Yechury. Before leaving Nagpur, he said that the so-called magic of MrModi was fading fast and realising the real face of the Prime
Minister, now the people were dissociating themselves from the saffron brigade and it would be visible in the elections of Bihar. Mr Modi had shown big dreams before Lok Sabha elections, but not a single dream has been translated into reality, he noted.
Claiming a massive defeat of BJP led NDA in Bihar, the CPM leader said that the Left Front has emerged a better choice for the people who were desperate to get rid of the current political scenario precipitated under the regime of Mr Modi in the country and under Nitish Kumar after shaking hands with Lalau Prasad Yadav in
the state. Describing Mr Kumar as ‘power-hungry politician’, he said it was an irony that the JD(U) leader forged an alliance with Mr Yadav whom he had opposed strongly for unleashing ‘Jungle Raj’ in Bihar. Both were trying to stop the so-called ‘Ashwamedh’ of BJP in which they would never succeed, claimed Mr Yechuri saying that the Left parties were only capable to keep the saffron brigade at bay.
Replying to a query regarding the alliance of Left parties in Bihar where the Left was always a divided house, Mr Yechuri said that Left unification was taking place in every state for increasing the strength of people’s struggle. Whenever the strength of Left parties increased, the government came under pressure and people’s works were done, he observed.
