New Delhi | German Chancellor Angela Merkel today said Germany is looking forward for cooperation with India in several areas like agriculture, internal security, development and defence. Speaking to reporters after being accorded a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Angela Merkel said,We are looking to cooperate on areas such as economy, agriculture, internal security, development, defence matters and financial relations.” Just before going for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House, the German Chancellor said,Germany fully intends to support the ambitious program that PM Modi has outlined for the development of this nation.
The German Chancellor arrived here last night on a three-day visit to India, during which she held bilateral talks with Mr Modi covering a wide range of issues including security and defence, with special focus on boosting trade ties. Ms Merkel also met External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Earlier, she was accorded a ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bahwan.
