Yellow Warriors Arrive To a marvelous Welcome

Wearing a yellow Kerala Blasters T-shirt and a dhoti (mundu) having a golden border to it, a typical Kerala attire worn on festive occasions, the blasters posed for the camera. The traditional Kerala art forms gave vigour and valour to the event.
Cricket’s master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar co-owned Kerala Blasters team gave Kochi a football lover’s Saturday last week. Most of the team members participated in the inaugural function arranged in a private hotel at Maradu.
The yellow warriors of Kerala Blasters arrived in Kochi on Friday, much to the delight of their legion of fans wearing Kerala’s own attire. Kochi arranged a memorable welcome to them. With the arrival of the team, it is now time for the football carnival in Kochi. The Blasters, who landed in their home city to play their inaugural match of ISL 2015, received a glamorous welcome from their fans.
It was after winding up their three-week camp at the Kariavattom Greenfield Stadium, the team landed Kochi. On hearing the news about their arrival, several fans thronged the domestic terminal, wearing yellow jerseys of the club and took up vantage points to catch a glimpse of their heroes. The fans had come prepared to receive their team with flags bearing the club’s logo, banners and welcome boards.
Mohammed Rafi, one of the Kerala-born players in the team and Kannur native C. K. Vineeth were no doubt comfortable in the traditional attire. But the foreign players, found some difficulty with this attire, but they managed at their best.
Bruno Peron of Brazil, Joao Coimbra of Portuguese, Peter Ramage, Marcus Williams, Antonio Timothy German, Stephen Bywater of England, Pulga, Josew Cirias Pritto of Spain etc. though seemed to be less comfortable with the attire were truly excited. Sandesh Jim Ghan and Marquis player Carlos Marchena couldn’t attend the function.
As the head of the family the head coach Peter Taylor was with them. In the first edition blasters wore the attire with the help of  Sushant Mathew. In this edition he was replaced by Raphy and Vineeth. Head coach Peter Taylor disclosed this too.
According to Peter Taylor football lover’s of Kerala are the team’s strength. Vineeth and Rafi, the Malayali players are excellent. In the inaugural function, Vineeth and Rafi  introduced the team members. Taylor expressed the hope that the team would be able to record an impressive win in the opening match with NorthEast United on October 6.
