New Delhi | Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said he will hold a meeting with all MLAs and their family members tomorrow evening to remind them of the reason for the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
The meeting is being organised against the backdrop of sacking of Delhi Food and Civil Supplies Minister Asim Ahmed Khan by the Chief Minister.
It will be a meeting to warn them that corruption of any kind involving AAP functionaries will not be tolerated, Mr Kejriwal posted on Twitter, meeting all MLAs, with families, tomorrow evening. To remind them why we came in politics. To warn them that Asim Khan episode should not happen again.
Yesterday, Mr Kejriwal sacked Mr Khan on corruption charges on live television.
The case was immediately referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation after a preliminary inquiry conducted by him and his Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
A complaint sent a one-hour audio clip to Mr Kejriwal and the decision of sacking Mr Khan was taken after 24 hours of receiving the complaint.
Mr Khan was accused of taking a bribe from a local builder for the construction of a building in his constituency.
A personal hearing would be done by the internal Lokpal before taking a final call on Mr Khan’s expulsion from the party.
