Rahul Gandhi donates Rs 50 lakh to Government School

Haveri | All India Congress Committee (AICC) Vice President Rahul Gandhi today announced a financial aid of Rs 50 lakh to Government School at Maidur Village, 10 km from here, to mark his visit. Addressing the students he announced the aid and assured the money will be sent to the school through the Chief Minister of Karnataka. He held interaction with the students for about 30 minutes and replied questions.

When he was asked by student what he would do to India and farmers if he was made as the Prime Minister, Mr Gandhi said that Congress Party has always been with the farmers of this nation and he will do his best to uplift the lot of the farmers.

Mr Gandhi undertook padayatra from Gudagur Village to Maidur Village and en route, interacted with farmers and assured them all kinds of help.
He was accompanied by members of Youth Congress and senior leaders including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Congress flags were seen everywhere and shouting slogans pervaded the march.Tight security arrangements were made by the police and more than 500 police personnel deployed.
