Union Minister Jitin Prasada and State party president Nirmal Khatri, were stopped by the Noida police from entering the village. Talking to news persons here, Mr Prasad slammed the state government for the action, stressing that they wanted to visit the village to spread communal harmony. Unfortunately, we are not being allowed, while those who make communal statements are allowed, he alleged.
The UP Congress has now decided to hold the ‘Sadbhavana Upwas’ outside the Bisara village. The visit of the UP Congress delegation comes a week after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi visited Bisara to meet the family of Ikhlaq, who was killed in an attack on his family by a mob over rumours of consuming beef. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was also stopped from entering the village, after villagers were upset over a steady stream of visitors and also pelted stones at media persons.
