Thiruvananthapuram | Medical shops in Kerala will observe one-day bandh on October 14 to protest against the Centre’s proposal to promote the sale of medicines over e-commerce.
Addressing a press conference here today, All Kerala Chemists and Druggists Association (AKCDA) State Secretary S Subramoniam said the Centre’s decision would badly affect the livelihood of 8 lakh chemists and 60 lakh family members in the country.
The national body of chemists and druggists AIOCD would also observe a nationwide agitation in protest against E-Pharmacy and the Centre’s decision to regularise sale of medicines through internet. The E-Pharmacy would lead to illegal sales of drugs without confirming the authenticity of prescription and patients, he also alleged.
