Popular Malayalam actor Dileep had been so touched with the Moideen – Kanchanamala story through the film ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’ and that he has decided to help Kanchana. He also met Kanchanamala at Mukkam. Dileep believes that there is no point in just sympathising and has come forward to help the real life heroine to construct a memorial for her late sweetheart. ‘Ennu Ninte Moideen’s’ director R.S. Vimal said that he is happy to see Dileep lending a helping hand to her.
In an open letter to Dileep, RS Vimal explains why they could not help Kanchanamala and Moideen Seva Mandir. Vimal says that he and his team had initially tried to help her build the seva mandir, but had become entangled in some legal issues and things had not worked out. He adds Dileep’s decision is indeed to be lauded and that more people should follow suit. Vimal is not forgetting to appreciate the generous act of Dileep.
Kanchana, who lives as “a widow of a bachelor”, had always wished to have a building for the BP Moideen Seva Mandir, an organisation to support the weaker sections of the society. After the death of Moideen, who was drowned in Iruvazhinjipuzha, Kanchana dedicated her life for the organisation working as a social activist.
